Aorist (; abbreviated ) is a grammatical term used to denote particular verb forms in certain languages. It is used particularly with regard to Ancient Greek, and to certain other Indo-European languages such as Proto-Indo-European, Sanskrit, Armenian and Macedonian, as well as languages influenced by the Indo-European tradition, such as Georgian.
